The footwear materials startup Cirql works to reduce production waste through recyclable midsoles and outsoles. Its new partnership with Italian manufacturer Frasson brings its low-impact components closer to European brands, helping them meet their own reduction targets.

Cirql, a Vietnam-based company developing recyclable midsoles and outsoles for footwear, has partnered with Italian manufacturer Frasson Spa to establish a certified supply chain across Europe. The agreement enables Cirql to supply its recycled thermoplastic polyurethane (rTPU) components to brands manufacturing in the region.

Frasson, which specializes in supercritical foaming and injection molding, is now Cirql’s official EU development and production partner. The collaboration supports Cirql’s mission to reduce material waste in footwear while improving access to recyclable components for technical footwear brands.

Footwear collaboration aims to ease shift away from virgin materials

By integrating Cirql’s rTPU into its production lines, Frasson will offer European customers a local supply of components made with recycled content. The partnership is designed to help footwear brands lower their material footprint without compromising performance.

“Thanks to Cirql, we have completed the material package and can now offer SCF with a significant portion of recycled material.”

Cirql’s material strategy centers on modularity, waste reduction, and full recyclability or compostability. With a GRS-certified factory in Vietnam, the company aims to keep footwear components in circulation and out of landfills.
