This Hiking Boot Takes a Big Step Towards a Small Footprint

Using a mix of recycled, natural and hazardous chemical-free materials, the new technical hiking boot Terraventure Texapore by Jack Wolfskin is designed to harmonize comfort and quality with sustainability.

High performance and highly sustainable design co-exist in Jack Wolfskin’s all-new Terraventure Texapore Mid hiking boots for men and women available in spring 2022. The ankle-high boot is constructed with a recycled and sustainably sourced upper material and a waterproof-breathable recycled/reused membrane, midsole and outsole. While the Terraventure Texapore is a step forward in sustainable design, performance takes precedence. Jack Wolfskin’s German-design ethos ensures quality with comfort, grip and stability features that make long days on the trail easier on the feet.

Jack Wolfskin aspires to eliminate PFCs from its entire footwear range by 2025, and the Terraventure Texapore also delivers water repellent performance without using chemical treatments. The upper is constructed with a recycled, synthetic material, a brand exclusive Texapore Ecosphere membrane made from post- and pre-consumer waste, and a comfortable recycled tricot lining. The cushioning EVA midsole is made with 30% sugar cane and 3% cork, and the Vibram sole is derived from recycled rubber. Even the lace eyelets are fabricated from 76% recycled zinc.

“Jack Wolfskin constantly strives to minimize the environmental impact of our products and establish more sustainable practices to guide the outdoor industry,” says Selim Say, Vice President Footwear.

“Durable construction, recycled materials and chemical-free alternatives represent progress. The Terraventure Texapore boot is a special achievement that combines the best in performance features and the latest in sustainable manufacturing.”
