Cirql debuted to award-winning acclaim for sustainability in 2024. Following back-to-back product launches this fall, the sustainable materials brand is delivering on that promise today while simultaneously working toward a better future.

Earning an ISPO BrandNew Award for Sustainability was a nice accompaniment to Cirql’s biodegradable product introduction in December 2024. The award recognized Cirql’s mission of building a circular economy for footwear, as well as the tangible steps it’s taking to create less impactful, less toxic footwear materials.

The team behind Cirql is fiercely passionate about creating more sustainable solutions for footwear. They envision a circular economy for footwear, where materials are either fully recyclable or fully biodegradable. The fact that each of the brand’s four midsole foams all deliver on that mandate serves only as motivation to scale that potential and to keep innovating toward even more meaningful solutions.

Innovating at scale with partners and process

Here’s a look at a few Cirql solutions:

Scalability is crucial toward lowering impacts of footwear manufacturing on a global level. With more than 22 billion pairs of shoes made each year, material solutions need to be accessible and scalable. Cirql’s answer is to develop a patented, chemical-free foaming process for all its materials, and that any Tier 1 factory with supercritical foaming capability can implement.

Brand partnership. Performance and quality open the door when brands are looking for suppliers, but its reliability, expertise, and values that build strong partnerships. Cirql tracks, measures and reports on its key environmental impact performance and social management. This means that brands can rely on a transparent and high-performing supply chain partner that is prepared to meet current and upcoming global reporting regulations.

Superior products with circular, end of life solutions. Cirql introduced two new products in Fall 2025. First, Cirql rTPU50 hit the market. The fully recyclable midsole foam is made from 50% GRS-certified, post-industrial recycled TPU. It offers long-term cushioning, flexibility, and ease of moldability

That was followed in quick succession by Cirql Zero36, the newest addition to the Cirql Zero product line of biodegradable (via industrial composting) midsole foams. Made with 36% bio-based content, Cirql Zero36 is a resilient, low density foam.

These patented products join Cirql Zero and Cirql rTPU30 in delivering on comfort and performance, while also helping footwear brands move closer to reaching their own climate and impact goals.

Cirql continues to democratize lower impactful footwear materials for global footwear brands.
