November 29, 2017 Students Win Grant to Trek in Alps
A group of students from Germany have enjoyed their first major outdoor experience thanks in part to a grant from the It’s Great Out There Coalition. In September, 13 eighth grade students and their teachers from Großhansdorf trekked for 10 days in the Alps, hiking the E5 route from Oberstorf in Germany to Meran/ Bozen in Italy. The participants carried their own kit and slept in mountain huts. The project was organized in partnership with Primaloft and supported by The North Face. This was the first initiative to be awarded an #itsgreatoutthere grant. The coalition expects to confirm more grants in the near future as it continues the campaign to inspire the public across Europe to get active outdoors.
