Circularity starts at the beginning of the value chain

At its Spring Edition on March 18–19, 2026, Performance Days places its Focus Topic firmly upstream. Titled “Textile to Textile – The Role of Collectors & Sorters,” the spotlight is on collection and sorting as the decisive foundation of circular textile systems.

Efficient collection and high-quality sorting determine whether post-consumer textiles become valuable feedstock or are lost to the waste stream. The Focus Topic addresses key levers such as infrastructure, regulation (EPR, Digital Product Passports) and technological innovation including automated sorting, AI and NIR.

As Anna Schuster, Head of Sustainability at Performance Days, explains:

“Many of the key questions arise much earlier in understanding material flows and in building efficient systems that create the conditions for innovation in the first place.”

The Focus Topic will be visible across the entire show, from the Trend Forum to expert talks and panel discussions, underlining that true circularity starts at the very beginning of the value chain.
