Backpack Made With Recycled & Cow Methane Materials

Osprey announces the Talon Earth, featuring PFAS-free, GRS recycled and Bluesign designated materials, as well as hardware innovations made using certified renewable natural gas from cow methane.

New to Osprey this Spring 22, the limited-edition Talon Earth 22 is designed with versatility and sustainability at the forefront, with an impressive Bluesign Product designation and technical features that place it at home on the trail, on the bike or across town alike.

A breathable, close-to-body Airscape backpanel with 50% recycled EVA foam and a flexible BioStretch harness and hipbelt allow for dynamic movement. Featuring an internal laptop sleeve, Stow-On-The-Go trekking pole attachment, external reservoir sleeve, LidLock bike helmet attachment and blinky light attachment.

This limited-edition capsule collection includes an extra focus on sustainable design, featuring the Bluesign Product designation for its high level of consumer safety, minimal impact on people and the environment, and responsible use of resources. Osprey achieved this more sustainable design by sourcing recycled fabrics inside and out, top to bottom, that meet Bluesign approved criteria. Everything from binding tape to sewing thread is recycled, helping reuse instead of recreate. Osprey didn’t stop with fabric and thread either. Roughly half of the plastic hardware is also Bluesign approved and made from certified-renewable natural gas. Even the zippers and woven labels are recycled.

Osprey did all of this while preserving the incredible fit and dynamic functionality that Talon is known for, making it one of their most versatile, technical day packs in its most sustainable silhouette to-date.
